Sub Branch History

The Sub Branch was established in 1929 and still operates as a “Traditional” Sub Branch with no attached club. The hall in Boyd Park has been our home since 2000. The Sub Branch has been actively involved in maintaining and upgrading war memorials in Nundah Memorial Park and Nundah Historic Cemetery, including a WWI trophy German artillery gun which has been restored.

Information for Members

We are a relatively small but very active Sub Branch, providing a place for members to meet and socialize. Our Welfare Officer provides dedicated support and advice to members of our Defence Family. Various social activities and outings are arranged throughout the year. The Sub Branch is open on Mondays and Wednesdays and all are welcome to drop in for a cuppa and a chat. While our hall is not officially open every day, you will often find someone in the office and all Committee Members are always available. We maintain a self-serve library for members’ use. Occasionally other community groups hold meetings or functions in our hall.

Meetings are held every second month, commencing on the third Wednesday in February each year at 12.00pm starting with a light lunch. December’s meeting is Christmas lunch.
