Sub Branch History
Since 1918 when the Inaugural meeting of the Sandgate Local Community War Committee was held at the Sandgate Town Hall, localised people have been providing support to Veterans and their families. This period saw the allocation of the first charter with the second charter being revised on 1st January 1939.
The Sub Branch now occupies two buildings in Burnett Place, Sandgate with the newest being allocated to house military memorabilia. Our current membership is over 300 members.
Our Sub Branch provides comprehensive welfare for, primarily, ex and current serving members. Support is also provided to families for funerals.
From the solid foundation of support provided by localised people to their Community, the Sub Branch now has two excellent memorials l where Services are held on ANZAC Day (25th April), Veterans Day (18th August) and Remembrance Day (11th November).
