Sub Branch History
The Sherwood RSL Sub-Branch was formed on the 10th September 1919 and Maurice Little was foundation President until 1923 there were eighty eighty members in first year. Following formation, general meetings of the Sub-branch were held in Sherwood Shire Hall.
In 1920 Great War memorial unveiled at Oxley. And in 1930 Anzac Day services commenced at Graceville Memorial Park.
In 1954 Sherwood Sub-branch held the first meeting in the newly erected Croll Memorial Hall at Corinda. In 1988 Sherwood-Indooroopilly Sub-branch a member of the newly formed Brisbane North District.
From 2000 to 2013 Mr Ron McElwaine was president and Mr Kevin Alcock is the current president.
The Sherwood Indooroopilly RSL is focused on the traditional ideals of the RSL – to deliver service and support to our veterans and their families, especially to the neediest, and to foster remembrance of the sacrifices made to preserve the Australia we have today. In the last fifteen years the Sub Branch has founded many support programs including the drop in centre, our home maintenance program, our excel-lent library, computer lessons, the bus to Greenslopes hospital and much more.

General Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month at 6pm
Drop in is held every Wednesday at 9:30am to 11:30am
Happy Hour is held on the second Thursday of every month starting at 4pm
Monthly BBQ is held on the last Saturday of every month starting at 11am
